The Masjid Dimaukom or Pink Mosque

Datu Saudi Ampatuan
Maguindanao, Philippines

The Masjid Dimaukom also known as Pink Mosque is a mosque in Datu Saudi Ampatuan , Maguindanao , the Philippines. It was completed in 2014. The mosque was painted pink to symbolize peace and love and was built by Christian workmen to symbolize unity and inter-faith brotherhood.
Datu Saudi Ampatuan Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom, who is reported to have financed the building of Masjid Dimaukom, and own the land in which the mosque was built, said that he and his wife purposely chose this color because first it was his favorite color, and second, because they said that pink symbolizes peace and love. “We really researched what the meaning of the color pink is. It means “peaceful,” and “love.” It can be love for Allah, love for the people, and love for the country,” he said.
It is unlike the other mosques that you see around, those with neutral-colored walls, decorated with gold paint here and there.
